Recovery for Life Gala and Silent Auction

Friday, September 14, 2018
Tavistock Country Club | Haddonfield, NJ

Join us for a night of fine dining, dancing and entertainment as we present our Recovery for Life Gala and Silent Auction. The event promises to deliver a fun evening with opportunities to bid on quality auction items.

We are pleased to announce that U.S. Congressman Donald Norcross is the honoree at our annual Recovery for Life Gala on September 14, 2018. A fierce advocate for recovery services and dedicated crusader against the disease of addiction, Congressman Norcross will be presented this year’s Advocacy in Action award.

As a member and co-chair of the Congressional Bipartisan Task Force to Combat the Opiate Epidemic, Congressman Norcross cares deeply about the disease of addiction gripping South Jersey and the entire nation. He is working aggressively in Congress to identify meaningful ways to help families dealing with this crisis. Congressman Norcross collaborates with local advocates, families, health care providers, law enforcement, individuals struggling with Substance Use Disorder, and those in recovery through a series of listening events to gain a full understanding of the issues and potential solutions.

Working with the bipartisan task force, a package of bills was presented that includes legislation such as Jessie’s Law, the STOP OD Act, the Addiction Recovery Through Family Health Accounts Act, Road to Recovery Act, the INTERDICT Act, the Synthetic Drug Awareness Act, the CRIB Act, and the VA Prescription Data Accountability Act.

Several of the bills recently moved forward in the House and Congressman Norcross continues to fight for the advancement of the entire package of bills and against budget cuts at the federal level. Congressman Norcross also introduced Jobs Plus Recovery Actwhich incorporates job training into treatment and recovery programs. Specifically, the bipartisan legislation establishes a pilot program to give those in treatment access to job training services, helping to sustain recovery.

Proceeds from the Gala will benefit Maryville’s mission of providing comprehensive, high-quality alcohol and drug treatment and recovery services to individuals and families affected by the disease of addiction, regardless of their ability to pay.

We look forward to seeing you there!
